      Accounts, trials and licensing

        Article summary

While a lot of the features of DataClassroom are free - for example, you can use all the lesson plans and datasets in our Resource Library for free - some of our features require that you have a license, or start a free trial.

        Starting a "no worries" trial

When you first sign up for the app here, you will start a 30-day free trial - which can be extended if you need more time.

With your trial in progress, you have all the paid features such as  Import data, Create a class, Graph Wizard, or Graph Driven Test which are available in the Teacher or College license. See your Account page for details.

When your trial expires - don't worry!

When your trial expires, you will still have access to the tool and all the work you have done.

Without a license, you'll still see be able to click on paid features, but you'll get a warning similar to this:

We know it can take time to fully evaluate a new tool, so we are always generous with our trial extensions.

And your data is safe. We're not going to delete it unless you don't use the tool at all for a long time, and will always notify you well in advance.

        Your students

K12 students "inherit" a license from their teacher, College students have their own license
As a licensed K12 teacher, the students in your classes will all be able to use the same features as yourself.
College students can buy their own license as described here or their institution can purchase a license to cover all or some of its students.
