# Using the Resource Library

The Resource Library contains free and publicly-accessible datasets and lesson plans that you can use at any time, whether or not you have a DataClassroom license.

##

Your dashboard shows a preview of content in the **Resource Library - just click on it** to enter the full, searchable library:

The resource library has the ability to search by **Subject**, **Concept**, **Grade Level** and also a free text search.

### Searching for Lessons and Data

Use the various filters to narrow down what you are looking for:

The library **remembers your filter settings** and will show you the same list even if you have navigated away from the library page.

The preview on the Dashboard shows the first results from your current search.

### Resource types

There are three kinds of free-to-use resources in the Library:

- **Classroom-Ready** lesson plans (with datasets)
- **Data Nugget** lesson plans (with datasets).
- **Raw datasets** (with full background and description, but no lesson plan)

Classroom-Ready lesson plans

Each lesson plan is **embedded in the dataset** as an [**attachment**](/v1/docs/editing-attachments). You can also **request an answer key** - we send this to you by email:

### Popular Classroom-Ready lessons

The list is ever increasing, so the best thing to do is to **browse the** [**actual library**](https://dataclassroom.com/en/resource-library) as described above. The list includes lesson plans and datasets on a wide range of topics including ecology, biodiversity, chemistry, physics, climate etc. and includes the perennial favorites:

- Potato osmosis lab
- Does Thanksgiving dinner get more expensive every year?
- Mitosis in onion root tips
- Photosynthesis / Floating leaf disc lab
- Elodea photosynthesis lab
- Antibiotic use and resistance
- Acid / base titration
- Reaction rate lab
- Sexy smells
- Cicadas
