# Exam mode

The ‘**Exam mode**’ is a switch that a teacher can use on a per-class basis, which temporarily turns off the various ‘assists’ that DataClassroom offers, including:

- The [Graph Wizard](/v1/docs/using-the-graph-wzard)
- [Graph-Driven test](/v1/docs/graph-driven-tests) selection
- P-value explainer and other similar explainers

### How to enable Exam mode for a class

The ‘Manage class’ dialog from the My Classes list offers a checkbox to enable the mode:

The Exam mode can be seen in the class listing:

### What the student sees

There is a clear indication for the student in the top-left corner of the app.

They will also see that the various features that have been disabled are now greyed-out or otherwise not available.

### Turning it off

Remember to turn it off once the exam period has finished. Otherwise the feature limitations will continue to apply for all members of the class.

**Note**: It will turn off automatically after a delay of 3 months, to avoid affecting students during the next academic year if a teacher accidentally leaves exam mode on.
